Gestwicki Laboratory part of research consortium awarded $32.3 million to study aging
The Proteostasis Consortium has received a $32.3 million grant from the Hevolution Foundation to understand how protein homeostasis contributes to healthy aging. The Proteostasis Consortium is a multi-institutional group of research laboratories, which includes the laboratory of the IND's Jason Gestwicki. As part of this five-year effort, the Gestwicki Laboratory is building next-generation, machine learning–enabled chemical biology approaches to measure and quantify changes in cellular proteostasis. "We are excited to be part of this well-integrated, interdisciplinary team of experts," says Gestwicki. "Now is the time to understand the rules of healthy aging, so that we can develop more effective treatments for age-associated diseases."
