Frederic Anglès, PhD
Dr. Frederic Anglès, is a molecular biologist with 10 years of experience in drug discovery efforts in protein misfolding diseases, who joined the Prusiner lab on September 20th as an Assistant Adjunct Professor. Dr. Anglès has a Master of Engineering and Master of Science degrees, as well as a PhD in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from CNRS, Toulouse, France. He comes to us most recently from Scripps Research, in La Jolla, CA, where he contributed to the development of new therapeutics targeting cystic fibrosis (CF) causing variants of the CF transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) protein. Fred is working primarily on applying expertise in assay optimization, high-throughput screening, and therapeutic development for use in our drug discovery program.
