Meredith Kuo, PhD
Postdoctoral Fellow, Gestwicki Lab
Meredith Kuo received her PhD in 2016 from the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Harvard University. Under the supervision of Drs. Stuart Schreiber and Ramnik Xavier, her graduate work focused on using small-molecule modulators to dissect the autophagy machinery in mammalian systems, with particular focus on cellular models for inflammatory bowel diseases.
As a postdoctoral scholar in the Gestwicki laboratory, Dr. Kuo’s current research aims to develop phenotypic screening strategies for the discovery of small-molecule probes that modulate tau homeostasis. Such small molecules will be able to serve as starting points for therapeutic development, as well as useful tools for dissecting molecular mechanisms behind tauopathies.
