Luca Ponzoni, PhD
Postdoctoral Fellow, Keiser Lab

After receiving his bachelor's and master's degrees in physics, Luca Ponzoni obtained a PhD in physics and chemistry of biological systems at SISSA (Trieste, Italy) in the lab of Dr. Cristian Micheletti, working on coarse-grained modeling of protein structures.
In 2016, Dr. Ponzoni joined the lab of Dr. Ivet Bahar in the Department of Computational and Systems Biology at the University of Pittsburgh as a postdoctoral fellow. In Dr. Bahar's lab, Dr. Ponzoni worked on designing a machine-learning approach for integrating structural dynamics properties of proteins to predict the effects of point mutations.
Dr. Ponzoni joined the Keiser lab in the IND as a postdoctoral scholar in September 2019.
