Cory Nadel, PhD

Postdoctoral Scholar, Gestwicki Lab

Cory earned a BS in Biochemistry from San Francisco State University and a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Washington. As a graduate student, Cory studied cellular responses to environmental stress, with particular interest on rewiring of transcriptional profiles to promote survival. In the Gestwicki laboratory, his research interests lie in the areas of protein folding and protein quality control. Cory hopes to understand the mechanisms by which molecular chaperones make important decisions about a client protein's fate, such as refolding, degradation via autophagy, or turnover by the ubiquitin proteasome system.
