Victor Banerjee, PhD
Postdoctoral Scholar, Prusiner Lab
Victor Banerjee received his BSc and MSc degrees in chemistry from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. He received his PhD from Bose Institute, Kolkata, India, under the supervision of Prof. K.P. Das. Victor's doctoral work focused on the misfolding and aggregation of insulin protein using biophysical techniques. In 2014, Victor joined the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, as a postdoctoral research scholar. There, he worked with Dr. Niv Papo on the development of protein-based agonists and antagonists to understand the early events in the SOD1 protein misfolding and aggregation process.
Dr. Banerjee joined the IND as a postdoctoral scholar in 2018. In the IND, he will investiage the different prion strains of tau and α-synuclein, with a goal to understand the relationship between the structure and the infectivity of different prion strains.
