Jennifer Abrams, PhD
Postdoctoral Scholar, Gestwicki Lab
Jennifer Abrams received her Ph.D. in 2014 from the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at the University of Texas Graduate School for Biomedical Sciences at Houston under the mentorship of Dr. Kevin Morano. Her graduate work focused on understanding functional contributions of yeast cytosolic Hsp70 nucleotide exchange factors to protein homeostasis and quality control.
Dr. Abrams is currently a postdoctoral scholar in Jason Gestwicki’s laboratory. Her primary research interests include investigating mechanisms of action for recently identified antiprion small molecules and understanding prion protein (PrP) homeostasis in relation to the protein quality control machinery.
